Transfer membranes Osmonics

Transfer membranes Osmonics

React Scientific's product range includes an extensive new line of transfer membranes from world renowned manufacturers Osmonics, your complete source of filters, especially transfer membranes and blotting paper designed, manufactured and tested specifically for RNA, DNA and protein analysis. Osmonics also provides our customers with tried and proven protocols developed to obtain consistent reproducible and dependable results when used with Osmonics membranes. Osmonics highly recommends that you follow these protocols for optimal transfers.

Transfer membranes:

Nitrocellulose, PVDF, and nylon membranes manufactured by Osmonics, available for DNA, RNA, proteins and other proteonomic or genomic assays.

Our transfer membranes are available on 3 metre rolls in nitrocellulose, nylon and PVDF.

Nitrocellulose unsupported

Pure nitrocellulose is the membrane of choice for all protein or immunoblotting applications.

Nitrocellulose is a pure unsupported nitrocellulose and is the membrane of choice for all protein or immunoblotting applications. Excellent results will be obtained with all detection systems: antibody/antigen, radiolabelled, biotinylated, and chemiluinescent, providing a great amount of flexibility in designing procedures.

Nitrocellulose supported

A supported version of nitrocellulose for procedures requiring rigorous handling and reprobings.

The membranes are designed, manufactured and tested specifically for RNA, DNA and protein analysis providing molecular biologists with high quality materials for outstanding results, at exceptionally economical prices. Nitrocellulose Supported transfer membrane out performs unsupported nitrocellulose when extensively re-probing or performing colony & plaque lifts.

Nylon (neutral)

Nylon is optimal for all traditional DNA and RNA transfers where a neutral or single probe test is desired.

The membranes are designed, manufactured and tested specifically for RNA, DNA and protein analysis providing molecular biologists with high quality materials for outstanding results, at exceptionally economical prices.

Performance

UV cross-linking the nylon is an excellent way to attach nucleic acids. By exposing a nylon membrane to a UV source, a covalent bond forms between the membrane and the DNA or RNA, which maximizes signal retention after re-probing.

Nylon (charged)

With an average binding capacity of 450 µg of DNA per cm, this nylon membrane is naturally charged and hydrophilic with excellent signal ratios.

PVDF

PVDF is a naturally hydrophobic, unsupported polyvinylidene fluoride transfer membrane designed, manufactured and tested to deliver the highest binding capacity with low backgrounds in Western transfer, amino acid analysis and protein sequencing applications. Exceptional quality control procedures throughout the manufacturing process eliminate “lot-to-lot” variation and greatly minimize “bald spot” problems. PVDF assures reproducible results with maximum sensitivity.

The membranes are designed, manufactured and tested specifically for RNA, DNA and protein analysis providing molecular biologists with high quality materials for outstanding results.
